How It Works
I was traveling through the Philippines when I tried my first Discovery Scuba dive. That first breath underwater — the silence, the weightlessness, the colours — and I was completely hooked. I never looked back.
I spent years traveling the world's dive sites, following the ocean wherever it led. Eventually I made a decision: stop visiting the places I love and start living in one. I packed my diving equipment, a dream, and moved to Mexico.
Playa del Carmen gave me everything — the Caribbean reef, the cenotes, the bull sharks, the turtles. The passion, the beauty, the diversity, the silence and the peace that only the ocean can give.

Every November to March, bull sharks gather in the waters off Playa del Carmen in one of the most extraordinary wildlife spectacles on the planet. Dozens of sharks. Open water. You, 20 metres below the surface, watching them circle. It's the dive people come back from and can't stop talking about.
Board a fast boat from Playa del Carmen and head to one of the most celebrated reef systems in the world. Cozumel's crystal-clear waters, dramatic walls, and extraordinary marine life are a completely different world — and you're back home the same day.
The largest fish on Earth. Every June 1st to September 15th, whale sharks gather in the warm waters of the Mexican Caribbean. We pick you up from your hotel, head out at dawn, and swim alongside these gentle giants — one boat per whale shark, two swimmers per guide. A full day that ends with lunch in Isla Mujeres. Pure magic.

On almost every dive, you'll cross paths with the resident sea turtles that call this reef home. These ancient creatures are completely unbothered by divers — you'll hover just meters away, watching them glide effortlessly through the water.
Our wreck sites add another dimension: sunken history, now colonized by coral, lobster, and reef fish. The kind of scene that makes you reach for your camera and then decide to just… be present.
The Yucatan Peninsula holds the world's largest underground river system — and the cenotes are your entry point. Stalactites formed over millennia hang above you. The water is so clear you feel like you're flying.

Not at all — there is a diving option for everyone. Complete beginners start with Discovery Scuba, where we handle everything. Certified divers can jump straight into reef dives, cenotes, night dives, Cozumel, or the bull shark experience. Whatever your level, we have something for you.
Most of our dives depart from Coco Beach in Playa del Carmen, where we fit your equipment and head straight into the ocean. For cenote dives, we pick you up directly from your hotel in Playa del Carmen centro — no need to worry about transport. For Cozumel, we board a fast boat in the morning and return the same day. Your exact meeting point is always confirmed via WhatsApp before your dive.
Just bring a bathing suit, a towel, and a sense of adventure. We take care of everything else — all equipment, tanks, weights, and wetsuits are included in your package.
Absolutely. Safety and fun are our first priority. First dives are shallow — there is plenty to see without going deep — and you'll have a certified guide with you every second. We start with a pool practice session so you feel comfortable and confident before we ever hit the reef.
Cash is preferred and makes everything simpler. We do have a card machine available if needed, though a 5% processing fee applies for card payments. Payment is made on the day of the dive.
Yes, life happens — and so does weather. We're completely flexible and will always work with you to reschedule. The earlier you let us know about a change, the easier it is to sort out. We stay in close contact via WhatsApp throughout.
We keep groups small on purpose. Discovery Scuba and cenote dives are maximum 4 people. All certified dives — reef, Cozumel, night dive, and bull sharks — are capped at 5. This means more personal attention, better safety, and a far better experience underwater.
Every season brings something special. November to March is bull shark season — one of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters on earth. May to August is turtle season, when the reefs are full of green sea turtles. Cenotes are magical all year round. April to September can bring some seaweed on the surface, but it never affects the dives below.
There's a cenote for every level. Complete beginners can join a Discovery Scuba experience in open cenotes — no certification needed, just curiosity. For cavern sections with overhead environments, a minimum Open Water certification is required. More advanced cenote systems — deeper passages, complex navigation, low visibility zones — are reserved for Advanced or more experienced divers. We always match you to the right site for your level.
It's magical. Every November to March, female bull sharks gather in the waters off Playa del Carmen during their pregnancy — curious, magnificent, and completely unbothered by divers. We observe them respectfully, never interfere, and follow strict safety protocols. As your guide puts it: we are not on the menu. It is one of the most humbling wildlife experiences you will ever have.
